Import from MacDive / UDDF

Quick start — UDDF (any dive app)

On desktop, open Logbook → Import and choose a UDDF file (MacDive and
most dive apps can export UDDF). Dives, depth profiles and sites are matched and
loaded; re-importing the same file is safe — duplicates are skipped.

Full MacDive migration (Advanced/Pro)

To move your whole MacDive library, use the migration tool (tools/macdive-import/).
Point it at your MacDive.sqlite and it brings across, idempotently:

• Dives (full details), dive sites (created with GPS), buddies,
  gear, kits + kit photos, tags, critters, dive photos, and
  certificates.
• Depth profiles: also export a UDDF from MacDive
  (File → Export → Selected as UDDF) and pass it with --uddf. The tool
  reads the profiles and attaches them to the dives it created (matched by dive
  number) — it never creates duplicate dives. Profiles do not come from
  MacDive’s binary samples.

Run without --commit first to preview, then add --commit. See the tool’s
README for the full command reference. You’ll need an API token
(Account → API access, Advanced/Pro).

Can’t run it yourself? ScubaTrail support can do the migration for you. Turn on
Account → Settings → “Allow support access” (off by default). Support can then
create the data on your account — every action is logged and shown to you, and each
row is marked “Added by ScubaTrail support.” Turn the setting off again any time.

Auto-add photos (any logbook)

Use Logbook → 📷 Auto-add photos to match a batch of images to the right
dive by their EXIF time:

• Drag-and-drop works for a handful of photos (~30 at a time).
• For a whole trip, use Pick a folder.
• Only photos whose time matches a dive (±30 min) are imported — the rest are
  reported as unmatched, never placed on the wrong dive.
