The reef to the SW of Mudjimba Island offers a shallow wall that drops off (to approx 8 to 15 metres) from the reef top (depth of approx 3 to 6 metres). “Mudjimba“ is the islands aboriginal name (and translates to “Old Woman“), with origin from an indigenous dream time story.

Abundance of marine life, the snorkeler or diver may encounter many types of colourful corals and fish. An encounter may include a shovel nose ray, a few wobbygong sharks and turtles.
