
The anchor is sitting loose on the seafloor in about 25 feet of water. It is believed that the anchor may be a small ship’s boat anchor or a small boat’s bower anchor. The date range is estimated to be 17th to 19th century.
Marine life at this site
It may have been embedded in the adjacent reef before Hurricane Maria and uncovered during the storm. The anchor provides a habitat for sea life common to the area.
